Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I hear your point of view quite a bit. I would argue that the inability to get all the meds passed in a timely manner is either a workflow issue, or more likely a work load that's just too heavy. When we try to customize admin times for patients it creates quite a bit of chaos.

I do think you can have more than one set of standardized administration times for a certain sig. For example we use 0900 hrs for daily, 0700 hrs for QAM and 0600 hrs for Q24H. So I suppose that would meet your needs as well.

when everything is due at the same time in a 4 or 5 patient assignment.. my 9's arent finished until 11a and I miss rounds and other things that i have to do besides meds. ps..i lvoe your blog!

Ha! That's your job bro. I think it would be wiser to convert you to a healthcare "professional". Just think, you wouldn't have to learn anything new for the next 10 years; we're that far behind the rest of the technologically advancing world.

Great post!

I think we need to get you a job slinging code, or at least working as the "domain expert" on a team to make sure stuff like this is addressed, and designed to work properly from the beginning.
