The mug below comes from the Starbucks Roastery & Tasting Room in Seattle, Washington. A friend of mine recently took me on a field trip to the roastery. Neat, neat place. It’s the kind of place I could spend an entire afternoon just kicking back, surfing the web, and drinking different coffees cup after cup. I highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area. A word of advice, don’t ask about “blond roast coffeeâ€. Apparently they find it to be quite the abomination.

I was sitting in The Main Street Café in Visalia, CA having breakfast with my brother when I saw the sign below hanging on the wall. Perk ‘Em Up….would make a great name for a coffee shop, no? Just in case you were wondering, the staff was great, but the food was mediocre. The pancakes weren’t very good at all. No flavor. Bacon was good though.

The mug below comes straight from Voodoo Doughnuts in Portland, OR. My wife and youngest daughter were up North last week visiting colleges. They surprised me upon their return with a box of Voodoo Doughnuts and this mug. The doughnuts were delicious.

A package arrived on my doorstep Christmas Eve. That’s not unusual this time of year. However, neither my wife nor I were expecting a package. When I opened it I found two coffee mugs inside with a note that said “We were inspired by your blog post the other dayâ€. Very cool. The mugs were sent by MEPS Real-Time, Inc. A very big thank you to the generous people at MEPS.
